Creating a new ‘Shared Reality’ category in the UK and European media

Challenge
Establish a new category: ‘Shared Reality’ in a crowded AI and digital twin landscape.
The brief
Samp, a fast-scaling AI company redefining the built environment through connected digital twins, partnered with CommsCo to create and own a new media category: Shared Reality. The objective was to differentiate Samp’s narrative in a technical market, translating its innovation into media-ready messaging that would resonate with industry and national press. In addition it was to introduce the Paris-HQ-ed technology innovator to the UK media landscape.
The strategy
CommsCo developed a bold messaging platform focused on ‘Shared Reality’ as a new paradigm – where digital twins aren’t just static models, but evolving digital representations powered by AI and contextual data.
To drive brand awareness and secure press hits for Samp, we crafted media angles around infrastructure resilience, smart asset management, and the future of engineering intelligence. We also called out the 30pc visibility gap – where industrial operators only have partial visibility of their sites at any given time and promoted a campaign urging the industrial sector to ‘wake up’ to Shared Reality.
Results
In just four months, we’ve secured over 30 pieces of media coverage for Samp, with leading publications such as The Engineer, IoT Insider, and Chemical Industry Journal highlighting ‘Shared Reality’ as an emerging category and viable solution to key industry challenges. Samp is now widely recognised as a pioneer in this space.
CommsCo also elevated co-founder Shivani Shah’s profile, landing her a spot in TechRound’s Top 50 Women in Tech, along with high-profile features in Silicon Republic and UKTN. Additionally, the UK team led the corporate positioning for the Europe-wide launch of Shared Reality.
